💊 Bring all the medication you’re currently taking — or a list with the exact doses.
😴 Pack earplugs and a sleep mask to help you rest better.
⚠️ If applicable, tell the nurse or doctor if you've consumed alcohol, drugs, or any non-prescribed meds. Stopping suddenly can be dangerous — they’re here to help you safely.
📇 Bring contact details for your psychiatrist, psychologist, or anyone else involved in your care.
💍 Leave valuables at home (jewelry, watches, etc.).
📝 Write down a small list of people you want your loved ones to notify — it’ll be easier to reconnect when you're discharged.
🔒 Leave your belt, pocketknife, or any potentially dangerous items at home. In hospital, anything that could be used for self-harm is not allowed, especially if you’re having suicidal thoughts.
🥿 Bring slippers or comfy shoes.
👕 Pack simple, comfortable clothes — avoid flashy brands or styles.
🛏️ If possible, bring your own pillow and a soft blanket — it helps make the space feel more like home.
📓 Bring a notebook without metal spirals to jot down your thoughts, feelings, useful info, or keep a journal. It can really help 💬
🤝 Cooperate with the staff as much as your condition allows. They’re here to help you get better.
🗣️ Try talking with other patients. They might understand what you're going through better than most people outside.
🚬 If you smoke, make sure to bring enough cigarettes.
📚 Bring some books, magazines, card games, or board games.
🧩 Also pack solo games: sudoku, crosswords, sketchbooks, etc.
